PhotoNews: Osun Gov’s Wife Intensifies Efforts To End Open Defecation

With a view to ensuring total eradication of open defecations in Osun state, the wife of the state Governor, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola has tasked stakeholders across all levels in the nooks  and crannies of the State to intensity campaign against open defecation.

 

Doing this, according to Mrs Oyetola, would enable the citizens to experience good healthy situation.

     

When her campaign train hit Ejigbo, the first lady, while addressing citizens of Ejigbo at the  open field of Ilawo Middle and High school urged them to desist from defecating openly.

    

Wife of the Governor State of Osun who also doubles as the President IleriOluwa Development Initiative who was accompanied by the wife of Deputy Governor Mrs Oyefunke Alabi and other  wives of top government officials in the State said her foundation IleriOluwa Development Initiative will continue to intensify campaigns and advocacy to help people stop the practice of Open defecation which is absolutely barbaric practice in the society. Mrs Oyetola said the practice is now rampant.

 

 She stressed further that, since the certification of Ifedayo local government area as the first and only local government so far in the South West Zone to be open defecation free, there has been healthy living in the council.

The Wife of the Governor the  appreciated the efforts of Ejigbo South Local council residents in ensuring that Ilawo becomes a pride of the state.

 

Speaking at the event, the chairman, Ejigbo South Local Council Development Area Prince Omoboyede Jaiyeola stated that the local Council had visited the nooks and crannies of the LCDA to educate and enforce the existing sanitary bye law which will go a long way in  supporting the campaign against the barbaric act.

  Prince Jaiyeola therefore sought the support of traditional rulers and community leaders in advocating for the culture of one house one toilet.

Highlight of the programme was demonstration of hand washing by Mrs Oyetola and lecture on eradication of open defecation including cultural display.
