Police Arraign Man Over Alleged Theft Of Motorcycle In Osun

A 50-year-old man, Olademeji Adekoleoye was on Tuesday, arraigned before an Osogbo

Magistrate’s Court in Osun state over alleged

thetf of motorcycle.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Mustapha Tajudeen told the court that the accused person committed the offence on November 19,2017 at about 16:30pm at Ogo-Oluwa area,Osogbo.

The prosecutor said the accused person and others now at large conspired together to commit felony to wit stealing of one Boxer Bajaj motorcycle with Engine Number DUZWHB40408 and Chassis Number MD2A18AY6HWB53041 valued two hundred and sixty thousand naira (#260,000,00), property of one Inaolaji Saheed.

Mustapha said the accused person was arrested with the stolen motorcycle in his possession by a police detective.

He argued that Adekoleoye committed an offence that contravened Sections 516 and 383(1)and punishable under section 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

The defence counsel, I. Ikuobasi prayed the court to grant his client bail in a liberal term and he assured the court that he would be present in court for trial.

The Magistrate, Mr Tunde Badmus, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like some.

Badmus ruled that the surety must reside within the court jurisdiction and produce evidence of 3 years tax clearance with affidavit of means and 3 passport sized photographs.

The case was adjourned till March 23,2018 for hearing.
