First Lady State of Osun, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola has welcomed the first new baby in the new year at general hospital Asubiaro in Osogbo.
The baby was delivered exactly 1 O’Clock on Wednesday morning. Mrs Oyetola prayed for the baby, his parents and the entire family of the new baby after which she presented them with gifts.
The baby of the Year weighed 3.4kg.
The mother of the new baby, Mrs Abass thanked Almighty God and Mrs Oyetola for kindness towards her baby and her family.
She prayed for the first lady, the governor and the entire state for the kind gesture
The first lady also gave a general message for the people of the state saying: “I thank God for where we are. I thank the people for the support given to my husband since he came to power and I want them to continue this support.”
On the issue of open defecation that Mrs Oyetola has been advocating against, she said “everybody must have toilets in their respective homes. We should stop the habit of defecating in an open space. We want Osun state to be open-defecation free this year before the two years anniversary.”
