BREAKING: DSS Finally Releases Sowore

 

After spending 124 days in detention, the activist-turned politician, Omoyele Sowore, has finally regained his freedom.

 

The Cable reports that Sowore, who was the convener of RevolutionNow Movement has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since August 3.

 

Legit.ng gathered that he was arrested and charged to court by the Nigerian government for planning a nationwide protest tagged #RevolutionNow.

 

According to the report, the activist was released on the evening of Thursday, December 5, after the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered his release for the third time

Sowore is expected to appear in court on Friday, December 6, for commencement of his trial.

 

The online news medium said that a DSS source broke the news on the evening of Thursday, December 5, which was later confirmed by Marshall Abubakar, one of the lawyers of Sowore.

 

“He has been released. I am with him as we speak,” the source said.
