Shocking! See Photos Of Suspects Arrested At The Illegal Brewery Uncovered In Lagos

Officials of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA and the Nigerian Police discovered a factory where assorted adulterated Stouts, Malts and Gins are being manufactured in Oke-Afa, Igbe, Igbogbo. On Wednesday, 11th of April, 2018, the Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Comrade Olusesan Daini made this known to the Police for prompt apprehension.

It was gathered that the illegal brewery was producing Malt drinks, stout and ethanol which they pumped into trucks to bottle at another location.

Five of the suspects behind the factory were also arrested by a team led by Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, who took newsmen to the scene of the crime.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Mr Edgar Imohimi, while at the scene said that the suspects would be subjected to further interrogation to know where the drinks were bottled and sold. He said that the illegal brewery would be sealed and samples of the drinks would be sent to the laboratory for test.

The Police Chief attributed the discovery of the illegal brewery to the efforts of community policing and partnership. According to him, the people of Lagos are showing increasing confidence in the Police. Imohimi urged residents to know their neighbours, saying that vigilance was the only way to have a crime-free society.

“Lagosians can only be productive, contribute their own quota to the development of Lagos State, if they are healthy,” he added.

While responding to questions from MegaXpression Magazine, Comrade Olusesan Daini said, ”I want to use this opportunity to advise the people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and Lagos State at large, to be mindful of what they drink as health is precious. Many have died and so many others are suffering from what hearth, liver or kidney problems caused by fake products.That is why we are going to all nook and crannies of to fish out those producing fake drinks and other products.

“These acts are not only hazardous but also criminal, and unaccepted. Our zero-tolerance policy against environmental hazards and crimes remained sacrosanct​,” he concluded.
