When Drummer of Peace, Laoye Organised Royal Burial Ceremony In Honour of Late Mum (Photos)

It was a gathering of who is who in the society on the 12th May, 2018, when Prince Adewale Laoye, popularly known as Drummer of Peace held a royal-like burial ceremony for his mother, Olori Deaconess Janet Ayokunnu Laoye.

The befitting burial which took place in the ancient city of Ede, Osun state was graced by many high profile personalities including the former Speaker of Osun state assembly, Rt. Hon Adejare Bello and Dr. Ayo Adewopo, NJ other of whom are governorship aspirants under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party. General Larinde Laoye(rtd) was also in attendance.

To celebrate her impactful life on earth, 11th May, 2018 was the wake and artist night – a night that saw the performances of 18 music artistes/groups including the Dominion Voices of Living Faith Church, Ede.

For the interment service which held on 12th May, 2018, at Christ Apostolic Church, friends, families and well wishers were on ground to pay their last respect.

According to Laoye, her late mother, Olori Deaconess Janet Ayokunnu Laoye slept in the Lord on the 2nd April, 2018.

“My mother, Iya Wale as she was fondly called came to this world on 7th April, 1949 in Iwoye and later got married to Omo’ba Elikhanah Adedeji Laoye. The union is blessed with children and grandchildren.

“Olori was a dutiful wife, caring mother, peacemaker, lover of God and a business woman per excellence.”
