A governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Osun state, Benedict Olugboyega Alabi has commended President Muhammad for declaring June 12 as Democracy Day.
The chieftain of the ruling party also congratulated the people of Osun and Nigerians at large on the development.
BOA made this known in a press release issued in Osogbo on Thursday.
He said ” our democracy had come to stay; it is worst form is better than the best other forms of government.”
Benedict Olugboyega Alabi said that some corrupt individuals and unscrupulous politicians meeting with the top military brass should be cautious, “as the world has moved beyond military rule.”
The aspirant noted that he was not convinced that May 29 was the real Democracy Day, but June 12, 1993, when the nation witnessed the most credible election in the history of Nigeria.
He however, charged all politicians to show compassions to the poor and strive to bail out people in need as a mark of responsible leadership.
He tasked the people to engage the political class with issue of general interests, saying this would put them on their toes.
