The entire Iwo federal constituency was brightened on Thursday as it played host to a leading governorship aspirant in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state of Osun, Dr. Ismail Abiodun Saka-Layonu SAN who stormed the area in his consultative tour round the state.
Dr. Saka-Layonu SAN who is aspiring under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was received by a pool of supporters in Iwo, Ayedire and Ola Oluwa, the local governments in the Constituency with broom in their hands in solidarity with the Party.
While receiving the aspirant in Iwo local government, a notable leader of the party in the state, Alhaji Abdul-Gafar Alani who was flanked by the party chairman, Alhaji Semiu Ayofe and other party leaders described Dr. Abiodun Saka-Layonu SAN as a unique politician with peaceful and diplomatic conduct. He added that having a personality of his class in the race is a step into the actualization of the popular ‘Osun West Agenda’.
The Ede born politician was wholeheartedly embraced by Ola Oluwa local government as the party’s chairman in the area, Hon. Akinyooye Ismail declared the party’s support for him, stressing that Dr. Saka-Layonu is the best man for the job of taking Osun to the next level.
When the aspirant’s consultative train got to Ayedire local government, the situation was the confirmation of the positive encounter in the two previous local government areas in the Constituency, as the APC chairman in the local government, Alhaji Olubori Rasheed embraced the aspirant, describing him as a sellable candidate.
In his reaction, Dr. Saka-Layonu SAN thanked the party leaders, chieftains and members across Iwo federal constituency. He described them as worthy party men and women who are the secret behind the party’s growth in the area.
Dr. Ismail Abiodun Layonu SAN who enjoined the party delegates to count him worthy of their votes in the party’s forthcoming primary election on July 7, promised that he will not disappoint them.
He promised that the party structure shall be dignified, maintained and upheld for development while the area will not be neglected in the appointment into different government agencies and parstatals, stressing that Iwo federal constituency shall be accorded a high level of respect.
