Armed with with several governorship campaign posters of Mr. Oyebamiji, the excited crowd of APC members milled around him on sighting the commissioner entering the venue of the ceremony.
Recall that community leaders in Irewole and Isokan local government areas had last week obtained governorship intention form for Oyebamiji, even when he was away in Abuja on official duty.
At the commissioning of the school built by the administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola on Tuesday, security agents had hectic time controlling the crowd who sang various songs to herald the attendance of Oyebamiji.
The event was practically “stolen” by this governorship aspirant as he attracted virtually every attendant’s attention.
For several APC members, the reason for this likeness and support for Oyebamiji is not far fetched.
Since Oyebamiji’s kinsmen decided to drag him into the governorship race, his integrity and track records had won the hearts of the majority of the people of his community and by extension, the party members.
Speaking with our correspondent, an APC leader, Alhaji Tejumade Olagunju, said Oyebamiji has proven to be reliable and truthful over the years, hence the decision to support his governorship aspiration.
“We know him and trust him. West agenda is real and we can’t give the rest of Osun no less a quality individual after what we have seen Aregbesola done in the last 8 years. We have looked round and found Bola Oyebamiji the best”, he concluded.
Another leader from the zone, Alhaji Ganiyu Oyeladun said people in the communities believe so much in Oyebamiji and they have vowed to support him to clinch the governorship seat come September 22.
Oyeladun who said Oyebamiji had never thought of contesting the poll added that he was only picked and persuaded to contest due to his pedigree and track records.
According to him, “Osun Finance Commissioner is so humble, passionate about the welfare of the people regardless of religious or political affiliations, and this is a lesson we should all learn that whatever we are doing people are watching us.”
Similarly, Mr Ajibade Sarafadeen, who hails from Isokan Local Government area, Apomu, maintained that the people of the area are backing Oyebamiji and are putting everything into it and support him to victory.
Sarafadeen who enjoined the rest of Osun to support Oyebanji, said he is the only one that perfectly fits into the shoe that would be left behind by the incumbent governor.
He said that “He (Oyebamiji) is a technocrat, a honest man. For the whole community to have done this for him, it means he is loved by all.
