A governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state, Engineer Adelere Oriolowo, has commenced tour of local government areas in the state with the aim of consulting delegates and reseek their support ahead of the July 7 governorship primary of the party.
During his visit to Ila/Ifedayo/Boluwaduro Federal Constituency, Oriolowo solicited the support of the the party delegates from the constituency and promised that he would consolidate on the policies and programmes of Governor Rauf Aregbesola when elected.
Oriolowo, the Project Coordinator of World Bank started his tour from Oke-Ila in Ifedayo local government where he met with the party leadership and made known his campaign promises.
He also disclosed to the party faithful how his leadership at RAMP had helped facilitated projects to the area.
He said RAMP under his watch had opened up roads that connected villages, town and farm settlement in that region.
He further noted that bridge that linked Oke-Ila and Ila – Orangun together popularly called Oyi Aduni River had been completed and that the road from Iresi to Ila – Orangun had also been attended to under his watch. He however vowed to do more if elected.
The Governorship hopeful assured the party faithful of solid empowerment and skill acquisition.
According to him, “I am going to continue what my principal, the Governor has started but I will add two more to the action plans which include; Industrialization and Youth and Women Empowerment. Osun will be a major exporter of skilled labour in Nigeria”
“I will turn Ila farm settlement to farm estate, that will make agriculture attractive to our youth and as a Technocrat, I will face governance while I leave politics for the politicians.”
Speaking, the Ila local government party chairman, Barrister Joshua Adedeji, assured Oriolowo of their support, saying that his track record while in the civil service had won him the hearts of party members.
Adedeji also affirmed Ila’s support for the West agenda because they believe in equity and fairness.
Also speaking, the Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdulwahab Kayode Oyedotun threw his weight behind the ambition of Oriolow saying that he would fulfil his promises.
Oba Oyedotun therefore urged the party delegates and leadership to work hard towards Oriolowo’s victory at the primary.
The monarch said, “I can vow on his behalf that he will fulfill all he has promised. His track record at RAMP speaks volume. In Ila, we have endorsed Oriolowo.”
