Ismail Adefowope Organises Walk In Support Of Gov Aregbesola’s Administration (Photos)

Youths in the ancient town of Iwo, Osun state, have lauded the achievements of the administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola with a solidarity walk.

In their hundreds, the youths noted that within the space of seven and half years, the governor has transformed the state explaining that the walk to live was to appreciate his efforts.

Led by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Iwo, Hon Ismail Adefowope, the youths walked through the major streets in the town and ended up at the Oluwo’s palace.

Speaking after the walk, Adefowope said the exercise was to show support and encourage the sustainability, wellbeing and fitness of the masses through which was initiated by the Gov. Aregbesola’s administration.

Adefowope explained that the Governor started the walk with the youths, so as to build in them the spirit of fitness for productivity, stressing the need for whoever succeed the governor to continue the good legacy of Aregbesola.

Adefowope, the Oluomo of FEESU land, who commended Governor Aregbesola for this laudable innovation, said the governor’s walk with the people had gone a long way in promoting healthy living among the people and as well created a high sense of unity and productivity among the people of Osun.

He said, “I organized this programme so as to show my support for the unquantifiable and laudable achievements of Governor Rauf Aregbesola in the last seven and half years.

“Aregbesola has performed superbly well in the area of social and infrastructural development.

“As a matter of fact, apart from the massive roads construction which cut across every nooks and crannies of the state, building of the state-of-the-art classrooms, employment of over 40,000 youths under the youths empowerment scheme popularly known as OYES, free meals for our pupils, monthly stipend  for the aged people among others laudable programmes, Aregbesola has done well in terms of restoration of good health care in the state.”

“Aregbesola through the healthy living program tagged Walk-to-Live has brought to fore the closeness of his administration to the people and the magnitude of his popularity with the people of Osun.”

“He is the only head of government in Africa that has ventured to walk on the streets with the people for as long as 91.5 kilometer stretch in the whole of Africa. Hence the need for all his lovers to emulate him. He has set the pace for others to emulate

He therefore advised that whoever that might be fortunate to succeed governor Aregbesola must be ready to follow his footsteps and agree to build on his good legacy so as to allow the people of the state to continue to enjoy the dividend of democracy.

The House of representatives hopeful vowed to continue to organise such a programme and other programmes that would have direct impact on the lives of the people of his constituency and the state at large.
