The Primary Election Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Osun state has expressed readiness towards conducting a free, fair and peaceful election in the party tomorrow.
The election Committee, chaired by the Governor of Zamfara State, Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, made this known on Thursday while meeting with stakeholders of the party in Osogbo.
Yari, represented by a member of the House of Representatives at the meeting, Omo-Agege said 5 man committee would monitor the election at all the local government areas in the state.
He said the election would be conducted in all the 332 wards in the state stressing that it would be well organized.
He said 3 man committee would monitor it at the ward level.
For the guidelines of the election, the committee chairman said voter must be a member of the party.
“You must be a registered member of the party and your name must appear on the register. You must be physically present,” Omo-Agege said.
He asked each aspirant to appoint someone as their agent saying that members of the party should be calm and peaceful during the poll.
He debunked speculation that the primary has been compromised saying none of the party leaders had annointed any aspirant.
Meanwhile, a governorship aspirant under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Hon. Lasun Yussuff has said the Primary election slated for tomorrow, Friday, July 20 would be a tough one.
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives made this known during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Osogbo.
The meeting which consists of governorship aspirants and other stakeholders was for tomorrow’s primary.
