Osun Labour Party Chieftains Move To PDP After Meeting With Ogunbiyi

Prominent members of the Labour Party in Osun state have dumped their party and defected to the major opposition People’s Democratic Party in a bid to dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress in the  Saturday governorship election.

Ogunbiyi’s team had met with bigwigs of the LP in Iwo Local Government Area of Osun and asked them to align with PDP before the LP chieftains adhered.

The defectors declared their unwaivering support for PDP ahead of Saturday election in Osun.

Ogunbiyi, in a statement signed by his Press secretary, Ismail Afolabi and made available to journalists on Tuesday thanked the former  LP members for accepting his proposal.

The statement quoted Ogunbiyi as saying that PDP is the viable alternative to the ruling APC in Osun and therefore urged members of LP to align with it in order to defeat APC on Saturday.

He called on the supporters of the sister opposition party to throw their weight behind PDP so as to dislodge the ruling party and emancipate Osun people.

According to Ogunbiyi, “We are all on the same page in our struggle to build Osun of our dream. However, the political reality on ground requires a strong coalition and unity of purpose.”

“PDP is the most viable alternative to APC. We have to come together to dislodge the ruling party and restore the hope of Osun people.”
