Osun Residents Storm INEC Office In Osogbo, Kick Against Re-run

Some residents in Osun State on Monday stormed Independent National Electoral Commission office (INEC) in Abere, Osogbo the state capital and protested that INEC should declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke Winner of the election.
The Independent electoral commission had on Sunday declared the election inconclusive because the difference in votes is less than the cancelled votes.
The protester who rejected the inconclusive declaration of the election by INEC said the PDP candidate, Ademola Adeleke should be declared as winner of the election adding that the process was conclusive and that they will not allow what happened in Ekiti to repeat in Osun.
They noted that Adeleke who won a total votes of 254,698 votes as against APC candidate, Gboyega Oyetola with 254,345 votes is clear and Urged INEC to protect his interest by declaring Adeleke Winner of the election.
” We don’t want re-run in Osun Adeleke won the elections. INEC please protect your interest and declares him Winner.
The protesters were seen with different placard which reads, INEC bring back our votes, Protect Your Intergrity, gives us our Mandate. We Don’t Want Re-run in Osun, Osun is not Ekiti State, Adeleke won don’t cheat him and many others.
One of the protesters, Honourable Salami Akin from Oloru said the people has voted who they want as their governor noting that they won’t accept re- run in Osun as declare by INEC adding that Osun people don’t want Lagos to govern them again.
He noted that the unit where election were held and vote cancelled ought not to form part of the counting process and should and should not influence the outcome of the elections for any reason noting that Adeleke remains winner.
