Man Bags 8 Months Imprisonment For Stealing Winners Chapel Property In Osogbo

A Magistrate’s court sitting In Osogbo the state capital has on Tuesday sentenced a 41 – year-old man, Oluwaseun Alatise to 8 months imprisonment for stealing two bags of Rice and two Hp laptops belonging to winner Chapel Oke Onitea, Osogbo. 
Police arraigned Alatise on Tuesday before Magistrate Opeyemi Taofeek Badmus on two count of stealing. 
The prosecutor,  Inspector Oladoye Joshua  informed the court that the defendant committed the offense of stealing on September 12, 2018 at about 2am at winners Chapel church in Osogbo. 
He  explained that the defendant broke and entered  into a  place of worship and stolen some items belonging to  church .
The items according to him  are two bags of Rice value 30,000 and two Hp Laptops valued 250,000 property of winners Chapel Oke – Onitea Osogbo. 
Inspector Joshua  tendered the statement of the accused person, his photography together with the stolen items to the court. 
He also  informed the court that the stolen items has been released to one of the church,  pastor Akakor Edward on bonds. 
Prosecutor submitted that the offense contravene section 415, and section 383 (1) punishable under section 390 (9) of the criminal code cap 34 volume 11.laws of Osun State 2003. 
The defendant having no legal representation  pleaded guilty to all the count charge and begged for pardon saying he was also a member of Winner church. 
The magistrate Mr Opeyemi Badmus haven’t listened to him convicted him on the two count charge and thereby sentences him to 8 months imprisonment on count one or option of 10,000 and 6month on count two or option of 5,000. 
 Mr Badmus said the term should run concurrently due to the fact that the stolen items has been recovered.
