Two dock for Slapping Accused Person, Remanded In Prison By Osogbo Magistrate Court

Two persons were on Thursday arraigned in an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court in Osun for allegedly assaulting police officers on special duties and slapping accused person remanded in police custody by Magistrate Oloyade court 3.
The duo , Ajayi Oyetola,43, and Adewunmi Tola, 38, are both facing a 10-count charge bothering on conspiracy ,assault, malicious damages, attempted murder and breach of Public Peace.
Oyetola and his Accomplice allegedly slapped accused person, Olakunle Muhammadu who was charged for a criminal offense and was remanded in police custody by magistrate court 3, Mrs Oloyade .
The Prosecutor, Insp. Oladoye Joshua ,told the court that the defendants committed the offense on Oct. 10 at about 11: 30 am, at the Osun Court premises,Osogbo.
Joshua said the duo conspired to assault two police officers , Superintendent of police, Adeniyi Femi and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Abioye Sanjo, who were at their duty post discharging their duties.
He said the defendants attacked one Olakunle Muhammed ,an accused person remanded at police custody and also attempting to injure him before the police officers tried to stopped the defendants and they were likely assaulted .
According to prosecutor, the defendants tried to obstruct and also prevent the course of justice when the police officers were busy doing their jobs.
The Prosecutor said the defendants tore the clothes of the police officers and also attempted to killed the accused in police custody.
He said the offense committed contravened sections 516(A) ,356(4), 45, 249(d) , 351, 84, 145,509, 126, and section 86(1) of the criminal code cap 34 vol.11 laws of Osun, 2003.
The Defendants pleaded not guilty to the 10 count-charges alleged against them.
The Defense Counsel, Mr Kazeem Badmus, prayed the court to grant his clients bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. Ajanaku, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N250,000 and one surety in the like sum.
Ajanaku said the surety must reside within the court jurisdiction ,with evidence of tax payments and two passports sized photographs attached with an affidavit of means.
She said the surety must be a civil servant and must reside within the state capital and the case was adjourned to Dec. 19 for hearing
