The Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the House of Representatives seat of Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Barr. Bamidele Salam has said that 2019 is a strategic year for Nigeria.
In his new year press release made available to our correspondent, he stated that the new year is one in which Nigerians cannot afford to make mistakes.
The press release read:
“I congratulate all of us who made it into the year 2019. Indeed, only by grace could we have survived all the turbulence of the past years to make it into 2019.
As a Nation and as individuals, our survivals faced various security threats in the past year but God saw us through them all. We also faced several economic and financial challenges occasioned by the ‘arrogant incompetence’ of the governments in Osun and Nigeria, but God’s grace helped us survive them all.
Our graduates survived harsh employment conditions and heavy job losses; our workers survived serious hardships with the outrageous manner in which prices of commodities soared; Civil servants in Osun endured needless delay of their rightful salaries and allowances, but through it all, God stood firm with us.
We made it into 2019 not because we are the best of men, but because God has placed on our shoulders, the responsibility to help Osun and Nigeria survive. In our own survival, lies the ultimate opportunity for Nigeria to survive, if we make the right decisions.
This is why 2019 is a strategic year. It is a year when we get the chance to say NO to bad governance so that our standards of living can improve. 2019 is the year we all get to stand firm in our resolve to end the reign of this APC-led Federal Government that is daily putting all our lives in danger with its own incompetence.
2019 is the year when we get the opportunity to take the Nation back to the path of greatness that this APC government has swerved from. This year is the year we cannot afford to make mistakes.
On my part as a candidate for the position of member House of Representatives, I am desirous of being a part of the team that will restore the glory of Nigeria. My commitment to servant-leadership is unwavering just as I pledge to work in solidarity with youths, women and professional groups in Ede Federal constituency to initiate and sustain good legislation and effective representation in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly.
As we celebrate and make merry for the grace we got to see the new year, let us therefore rededicate to the cause of enthroning responsible leaders at all levels of our politics. Responsible leaders will lead us into the realms of glory that Nigeria should be operating at.
I urge us all to also put the country in our prayers, that God may help us dethrone evil men who are daily forcing our country into disintegration. I also urge us to pray, that God shows up in the affairs of Osun State to enthrone the government that the masses voted with their own hands and that will bring lasting solutions to the problems of the State.
May we find grace to do all that is required for our individual and collective destinies to come to pass.”
He also wished all Nigerians a happy New year 2019.
