Police nab two over robbery and killing of rice dealer in Osogbo.

The Osun State Police Command has apprehended two suspects over robbing and killing of a 43-year-old rice dealer in Osogbo, Osun State Capital.

The commissioner of Police, Osun State Police Command, Mr Fimihan Adeoye told Journalists at the police headquarters on Thursday that the two suspects identified as Dauda Amusat, otherwise called Adasi; and Dudupariola Kabiru connived with five others to rob and behead the business man, Isiaka Sanusi, on May 14, 2018, at about 9pm, along Iwo Road, Osogbo.

Adeoye told journalists that the principal suspect (still at large) identified as Yekini Ayinde, otherwise called ‘Abija’, had contacted the deceased to supply him 500 bags of rice, adding that deceased was lured in making the supply from Saki in Oyo State to Osogbo. He stressed that, after the supply was done, the deceased was lodged in an undisclosed hotel in the town and later taken out to be killed.

According to Adeoye, Ayinde contracted the arrested suspects, Dauda Amusat, and Pariola Kabiru, with five others, to kill the businessman after collecting the money initially paid to him for the supply.

He said Amusat and his gang killed the victim by cutting off his head, and later confessed how four members of the gang took away the head for ritual purpose.

The Commissioner added that three of the seven-man gang had earlier been arrested and charged to court, and that the newly arrested suspects would also be charged after completion of investigation.

The commissioner said the principal suspect in the case, Ayinde has been declared wanted and promised his arrest will be as quick as possible.

Also, The commissioner Police revealed to the pressmen the arrest of two suspected cultists of the Eye Confraternity over their involvement in secret cult activities and killings at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.

The police helmsman said all the suspects would be brought to justice immediately the command is done with its investigation.
