Feel Free To Discuss Your Health Challenges With Relevant Agencies – Justice Oloyede Advises Men

A former Justice of Osun State High Court, Justice Folahanmi Oloyede (Rtd), has called on Nigerians to always feel free to share their problems with the appropriate people without the fear of been ridicule.

Justice Oloyede gave the over the weekend at Ilesa township hall, during the official launching of OLORI TOLA foundation.

The foundation is poised to preventing mental health challenges arising amongst men.

The retired bencher said “Most men are traumatized and exploited domestically leading them to becoming victims of depression.

“If you look at our society, you must have observed that, there are many more cases of mental breakdown in recent time as a result of pressures from the society, economic pressures, emotional problems and even upbringing and as such, we need more of such foundation so that men can feel confident to approach them and unburden the problem without fear of been ridiculed”.

In her own word, the founder of the Foundation, Mrs. Tola Bamidele, said the foundation was established majorly out of her desire to root out the sources of strife, scandals, abuse and other relationship, and societal crises in Nigeria and the world over.

“The foundation was established to cater for traumatized, abused, brutalised, depressed and suicidal men including those in abusive relationships or marriages.

She continued, “I noticed that there are so many foundations for woman and children with absolutely none catering for the needs of men and this leaves men who often times, are major victims of most of these crimes,  unattended to, till they become menace to the society.

“I therefore seek to solve these dreaded problems by nipping them in the bud. I believe many men have crises due to their poor or damaged upbringing, exposure, misinformation, finance, health, ambition, personality, profile, ego and more, that shape them into becoming dangerously problematic”.

Mrs. Bamidele appealed to government and well meaning Nigerians to partner with the foundation in achieving its set goals.
