Three attendants at a Nipco filling station in Osogbo, Osun State, Azeez Abdulsamad, Nasiru Aranse and Medinat Salako, have been arraigned before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for stealing the sum of N 1, 150, 000, being sales proceeds of the station.
The accused were arraigned on counts of conspiracy , fraud and theft .
According to the police, Abdulsamad stole the proceeds and was later defrauded by Aranse and Salako , who took the money from him under the pretext that they would provide charms that would make him rich .
The charge sheet read in part , “That you , Azeez Abdulsamad , at a Nipco filling station, Osogbo, did steal the sum of N 1 ,150, 000, property of one Afolabi Kayode .
“ That you , Nurudeen Aranse and Medinat Salako and others at large , fraudulently obtained the sum of N 1, 150, 000 from one Azeez Abdulsamad under the pretext that you would provide some charms that would make him rich . ”
The police prosecutor, ASP Abiodun Fagboyinbo, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on August 28 , 2018, at a Nipco filling station, Osogbo.
He explained that the accused conspired among themselves to defraud the owner of the filling station, Afolabi , of the sum of N 1, 150, 000.
He added that the defendants were on the run before they were arrested and brought before the court
