Serifat Ajala Abiyamo Foundation (SAAF) has held its first year remembrance of Hajia Serifat Oluwatoyin Omoriyeba, who passed away on the June 28, 2021, AMILOADED reports.
The memorial programme, which started on June 28, ended with a health seminar on July 1, 2022, at Oba Kusamotu Hall, Ikirun, Osun State.
Speaking at the event, the guest speaker, Prof. Niyi Makinde, HOD, Department of Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Perinatology, College of Health Sciences, OAUTH, who spoke on the topic, ‘Menopausal Challenges in Aging Women: Symptoms and Antidotes’, said menopause is the permanent cessation of the flow of blood in a woman.
“Menopause can be marked by irregularity of menstrual cycles which can take up to 5-10 years,” Makinde said.
On his part, SAAF President, Engr. Isiaq Oladele, described late Serifat as “a great woman”.
One of the members of SAAF, who is the Provost, College of Management and Health Sciences, Bowen University, Prof. Sunday Owolabi, said Serifat Ajala Abiyamo Foundation (SAAF) was aimed at combating menopause challenges in women, the symptoms, and other related issues.
The husband of the deceased and chairman, SAAF, Magistrate Ajala, however, appreciated all the attendees.
Dignitaries at the event include traditional rules, Magistrates, Osun State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs SAAF Gen. Secretary, Prof. R.J Jimoh, the Vice President, Prof. Janet Olubukola, Prof. Sunday Owolabi, Dr. Abiodun Olubori, among others.
