The President and members of the Osun Esteem Lions Club, Lions Club International, District 404B2, Nigeria commissioned Club Core Project for 2021/2022 Lions Service Year at Isale Oba Primary Health Care Centre in Kuta, Osun State, AMILOADED reports.
The newly renovated project was painted with plumbing materials to make sure water flows in the facility for the ease of members of staff and patients.
The project was facilitated by the Club under the Leadership of Lion KAZEEM AKOFE LASISI NLCF as their annual legacy project as the motto of the District Governor for this Lion Year is ‘Service, Our Way of Life’.
The members of the club earlier visited palace of Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Oyelude Makama, where they presented the monarch with an award for his “meritorious and selfless service to his community and mankind as a whole”.
Among the Distinguish Delegates at the Commissioning were the District Governor ably represented by the First Vice District Governor Elect, Lion Professor Dayo Fagbohun and the Spouse, Lion Funmi Fagbohun, PDG OTUNBA Dr. Ademola Adesoye PMJF NLCF Osun Esteem Lion Club President, Lion Lasisi kazeem Akofe, Members of Osun Esteem Lions Club, Members of Osun Classic, Ife Model, IfebRoyal lLons Clubs and Esteemed Leos.
Region 8 Chairperson, Lion Dr. Suraj Ogunyemi and Zone 8B Hajia Toyin Adesoye were at the Event.
The IPDG, while addressing the King on the purpose of their visit, said, “Osun Esteem Lions Club is a little over a year old and asking for his support by using your influence to make the club grow in Osun State.”
Lion Professor Dayo Fagboun expressed his pleasure in meeting with the king, saying, as the incoming First Vice DG whose administration would be officially commissioned in less than 48hrs, he makes a promise that during his tenure as DG, impact of Lions Clubs will reflect more in Kuta.
Speaking, the Olowu of Kuta welcomed the members of the club to the community, saying, “It is an honour to welcome the incoming DG, not many have the privilege of knowing the incoming Governor before he is unveiled. I’m more than happy he has a major project to Commission as he has promised.”
The monarch enjoined the club to continue in rendering service to humanity, saying it remains the most difficult of service because “it is selfless and God alone can reward such”.
On his part, the Charter President, Osun Esteem Lions Club, Lion Lasisi kazeem Akofe, appreciated the effort of the club members and the members of staff of the Health Care Centre and stated the club’s achievements so far.
Speaking with our correspondent, Mrs Ijeribe Esim, the Matron of the clinic said the club has made things easy for the staff and the patients, saying, “Water now runs in the clinic and the clinic has been well floored.”
The project was commissioned by the first Vice District Governor, Lion Professor Fagbohun.
Isale Oba Primary Health Care Centre Matron, Mrs Ijeribe Esim and other members of staff were also present at the commissioning.
