Nigerians Storm Ukraine Embassy To Volunteer Fight Against Russia.

More than 100 young Nigerians on Tuesday, stormed the Ukraine embassy in Abuja and volunteered to join in the fight against Russia.

It was gathered that the volunteers numbering about 115, were made up of only young men.

Guardian reports that the young able-bodied men also put down their names in a register provided by the embassy.

Second Secretary, Ukraine Embassy, Bohdan Soltys, confirmed the development and revealed that no step had yet been taken to that effect.

This follows a recent call by Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, for foreigners in and outside Ukraine to join the fight.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government of Nigeria has said it is ready to sanction Russia in line with the United Nations’ resolution to “adopt and impose sanctions” on the country for invading Ukraine.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, who made this known while featuring on a Channels TV programme on Monday, stressed that the Nigerian government does not condone Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“On imposing (the) sanction, this is going to be a collective action. The United Nations has to act,” Onyeama said.
