Suspected political thugs, on Friday evening, attacked and vandalised a vehicle belonging to the Osun State Government, AMILOADED reports.
The attack, it was gathered, occurred close to Owode Junction.
According to eyewitnesses, the occupants of the vehicle were also attacked, adding that their whereabouts remain unknown as of press time.
When contacted, Mr. Ismail Omipipan, the Chief Press Secretary to the Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, appealed for calm on the part of party loyalists and supporters of the government, saying they must not do anything to play into the hands of the “enemies, whose major agenda was to find a suitable excuse to taint the credibility of Saturday’s governorship primary election”.
He added that the state government will do everything within its powers to ensure the security of lives and property in the state.
Omipidan also called on security agencies swing into action with a view to tracking down those responsible for the attack.
