Osun 2022: “Oyetola Has Done well”, AGF Members Endorse Governor For Second Term

 

Ahead of the All Progressives Congress governorship primary election in Osun State, the members of a socio-political group within the ruling party in the state, Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation (AGF), have declared their support for the state governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, and asked other to wait for their turn, AMILOADED reports.

The AGF members made this known at a press conference in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Friday.

The member of the group stated that they endorsed Governor Oyetola for a second term in office following his unprecedented achievements within the space of three years.

Addressing newsmen, the state coordinator of the group, Comrade Sikiru Tijani, said the AGF members unanimously agreed to endorsed the governor as the only candidate in the coming APC gubernatorial primary election slated for Saturday, February 19, 2022.

Tijani added that the governor has done “tremendously well in the area of infrastructural and human development”.

He said: “Members of the noble foundation decided to endorse Oyetola after assessing his remarkable and unprecedented achievements in the last three years.

“Our amiable governor is a man of outstanding leadership traits and professional know-how, many youths in the state our foundation in particular and the State in general have benefitted from these qualities in no small measure.

“AGF members during our meeting highlighted the performance of His Excellency, despite the meager resources available to the State, hence our resolve to support our Governor to lead the State for another term of four years.

“We also express gratitude to the government of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, for the necessary recognition accorded our group as major stakeholders in the Osun project. As a matter of fact , member of our group are among the local government appointees. They were being appointed in one position or the other at their various local government areas,” the AGF coordinator said.

Also speaking, the AGF Secretary, Comrade Yahaya Adeniji, who described Oyetola’s administration as “one that cares for all”, reiterated the group’s commitment to work for the governor’s re-election.

He, however, called on members of the group to prove that they are serious about their open endorsement by “doing their voter’s registration and turn out in their large number to vote for him tomorrow and on the gubernatorial election date”.
