Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun, says programmes initiated by his administration has fulfilled its dividends against the rumor by political rivals that such programmes had failed.
Aregbesola said this on Sunday in Osogbo at an event organised by the Oranmiyan group with the themed “Governance Delivered” as parts of the Governor’s 7th year anniversary.
He said: ” the news of some of his programmes having failed are only fabricated lies by the opposition.
” The rumours had it that some of the government’s programmes especially O’ Reap has failed.
” O’Reap is the back bone of O’meal which has continued to feed 2,500 pupils every school day,” he said.
According to him, none of the programme initiated by his administration has failed but rather contributed to the state economic development and growth.
The governor also debunked the news that his administration is owing salaries, saying his administration only has outstanding half salaries to pay to workers.
He noted that if people pay their tax as expected , the State would have more than enough to finance its projects and pay workers’ salary.
In his remarks , Mr Rasheed Raji Ropo spokesman for the Oranmiyan group, said the event was to assess how well Aregbesola has fulfilled his campaign promises with the people of Osun which is contained in the “Green Book” titled “My Pact With The People Of Osun”.
Ropo ,however, called on the people of Osun to continue to support the governor and his administration policies ,adding that such policies would be of enormous benefit to the state at large
