Boko Haram terrorists attack a military checkpoint in Borno
– Five soldiers were killed while fivers were left injured
– Military armoued vehicles were set on fire by the terrorists
Boko Haram terrorists have raided a military post killing five soldiers while five others were left injured.
The reports gathered that a military officer spoke on Tuesday, April 18 confirming the attack by the terrorists.
“Our men were outgunned.
It was reported that the terrorists stormed the checkpoint near Sabon Garin Kimba village about 140 kilometres (90 miles) from Maiduguri in a surprise attack.
“We lost five men in the fight. Five more were injured.”
Mustapha Karimbe who is one of the civilians assisting the army in the fight against terrorism said the terrorists burned three armoured cars and took military vehicles.
He said: “The terrorists attacked the soldiers and remained in the village for three hours before they withdrew.”
This is the second attack at a military checkpoint in a week by the dreaded group.
A similar attack happened a few days ago when bombers detonated their bombs in a surpise move.
Other terrorists who were around opened fire that killed a soldier and left a policeman injured.
A military officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed the attack.
“We lost a soldier in the Boko Haram attack at Dalori Sector 3 checkpoint while a mobile policeman was injured.
