Emmanuel Obasi Hails Gov Ododo for Free, Fair, Credible, Transparent and Rancour-Free LG Poll in Kogi

The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Federal Project Implementation, Chief Emmanuel Obasi, has praised His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ododo, FCA, for his good leadership style and for allowing the State Independent Electoral Commission to conduct a free, fair, credible, and transparent local government election without any interference.

The election, held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, took place across 21 local governments and 239 wards in Kogi State.

In a statement issued on Monday, Chief Obasi commended the Governor’s decision to promptly swear in the 21 elected Council Chairmen on Monday, October 21, 2024.

According to Obasi, the All Progressive Congress’s sweeping of all 21 Local Government Areas and 239 Councillorship seats demonstrates Gov Ododo’s leadership style which is positively impacting every part of the state, noting that citizens are pleased with his performance.

Part of the statement reads: “Our amiable Governor’s humility, equitable distribution of infrastructure and social amenities, prompt payment of monthly salaries of workers before every month end, increase in Minimum Wage to 72,500 Naira, surpassing the Federal Government’s 70,000 Naira, fight against insecurity, appointment of over 1,500 political aides from different parts of the State and country, empowerment of youths and women have combined to endear him to the people and attract widespread support for the APC-led government in the State.”

Obasi congratulated the newly elected chairmen, advising them to emulate Gov Ahmed Usman Ododo’s good governance style in their respective Local Government Areas for Kogi State’s faster development.

He congratulated Kogites for their overwhelming support and requested their continued support to Gov Ododo and the chairmen to ensure more democratic dividends at the grassroot.

He equally thanked the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KSIEC) for impartial and transparent conduct of the election devoid of rancour and distrust, pointing out that everywhere was peaceful and calm during and after the elections as clear evidence that the electorates were happy with the outcome of the elections.
