10 Students Receive Scholarships As OASIS Royal Academy Celebrates 10th Anniversary In Osun

In celebration of its impactful contribution to the education sector and academic excellence, OASIS Royal Academy in Osun organized a colorful program on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The event, held at the OASIS Events and Conference Center, Osogbo, Osun State, was attended by students, parents, teachers, kings, and dignitaries from all walks of life, gathered to celebrate the academy’s milestone in promoting quality and standard education in the country.

While addressing the audience, Hon. Bamidele Salam, representing Ede North, Ede South, Ejigbo, and Egbedore Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said the 10 students awarded scholarships were selected from different public schools in the community after thorough screening through examinations.

Hon. Bamidele added that the awardees will have access to tuition-free education, uniforms, and books throughout their educational career at OASIS Academy.

Addressing newsmen, the Head of Administration at OASIS Academy, Mrs. Oluwaseyi Salam, stated that the 10-year journey was glorious, despite challenges overcome with God’s help.

She noted that the school began with 14 students in 2014 and now has over 600 students across different levels.

Mrs. Salam added that OASIS Royal Academy has set an excellent example for schools in Osun State, being the only school to incorporate smartboard technology in all classrooms.

Mrs. Bamidele advised parents to monitor and spend quality time with their children at home and be more involved in their educational activities.

Also speaking at the event, the Secretary to the Osun State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, said Governor Adeleke is passionate about education and works tirelessly to ensure education has a strong foundation in Osun State.

In his own words, Oba (Dr.) Adedokun Abolarin, the Orangun of Oke-Ila, urged the young generation to invest intellectually and academically in Nigeria, encouraging Nigerians to value their culture and language for global recognition.

Oba Abolarin emphasized that nation-building is a collective responsibility, requiring Nigerians to believe in Nigeria.

The event’s highlight was the presentation of scholarship certificates to students, gifts to parents, including freezers and refrigerators, and a performance by the OASIS Royal Academy dance troupe.
