A corps member identified as Idoko Ebube Marvelous has won N1,000,000 in Access Bank start-up capital for business at the NYSC Kogi orientation camp.
According to a report posted on the official social media page of the scheme in Kogi State on Thursday, Marvelous won the top prize, with other contestants receiving cash prizes ranging from N700,000 to N100,000.
It was gathered that Marvelous was among the corps members deployed to Kogi State for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II, who are currently in the orientation camp.
The release reads, “The much awaited finale of the Premium Access Business Plan Competition for 2024 Batch ‘B’ stream II Inter-Platoon debate was held at the NYSC Kogi State orientation camp on Thursday 12th September 2024. The event showcased ten finalists, with the top five emerging as winners based on their exceptional business proposals.
“The competition featured a diverse range of innovative business ideas on agriculture products, animal production, and sales of finished art materials from the contestants. Their business proposals and presentations were evaluated by a panel of judges drawn from higher institutions within the state.
“At the end of the competition, Idoko Ebube Marvellous won the top prize of 1,000,000 naira, with other contestants going with cash prizes ranging from #700,000 to #100,000 naira as start-up capitals for their business and it was presented by Access Bank.
“The event is part of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme of NYSC and the competition highlighted the entrepreneurial talent and creativity of the Corps members, setting a benchmark for future contests and reinforcing the importance of innovative business solutions.”
