NSCDC Arrests 24-Yr-Old Bricklayer In Osun

The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended Akeem Sulaiman, a 24-year-old resident of Iwo, for allegedly vandalizing AUD Secondary School in the area.

According to NSCDC State Commandant Michael Adaralewa, Sulaiman was arrested on Sunday, September 7, 2024, at 11:15 am, while attempting to sell stolen items to metal scrap buyers.

The recovered items include 13 stainless steel hand basins, a pumping machine monitoring box, communication cables, three stainless trays, and four hand shovels.

It was gathered that Sulaiman, a former laborer on the school’s construction project, had been stealing from various buildings under construction for six years.

Adaralewa emphasized that vandalism is a serious offense under Section 451 of the Osun State Criminal Code Law, and Sulaiman will face the full force of the law.

The Commandant also warned metal scrap buyers in the state to refrain from purchasing stolen items, cautioning that those found guilty would be prosecuted accordingly.
