Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media following her response to the ongoing protests across the country.

The protests, which began on August 1, 2024, have seen Nigerians taking to the streets in various parts of the nation to express their dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs.

The demonstrations have gained significant momentum, drawing attention from numerous celebrities who have taken to social media to voice their opinions.

In a tweet on her X page, DJ Cuppy offered prayers for a peaceful Nigeria, urging divine guidance for the country’s leaders to protect its citizens.

She wrote, “Dear Lord, please bless Nigeria with peace, unity, and prosperity. Guide our leaders and protect our people. Let your love and grace fill our nation. Amen. #IJN.

While some netizens appreciated her sentiments, the statement did not sit well with others.
