Gbongan, the headquarters of Ayedade Local Government area of Osun State on Saturday, played host to dignitaries from all walks of life for the burial of Olori Florence Ajoke Waleade Babayemi, the mother of Omooba Dotun Babayemi, a prominent politician and an APC stalwart.
The late Babayemi Matriarch who passed on in May this year at the age of 86, was the wife of the late royal father of Gbongan, Oba (Dr) Solomon Oyewole Babayemi.
The carnival-like burial ceremony graced by important individuals within and outside Osun State, saw three popular musicians; King Saheed Osupa,Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde (K1 de Ultimate), and Yinka Ayefele, taking to the stages to dish out their genres spiced with rollicking drums to the admiration of the guests.
The burial which was accompanied with funfare, turned to carnival of sorts as prominent people from within and outside Nigeria,graced the occasion.
Among those present include the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde who was represented by his Deputy, Barr Bayo Lawal, Minister of Marine Industry and Blue Economy who was also represented, General Alani Akinarinde(rtd),traditional rulers, captains of industries and politicians across divides.
