Controversial singer Portable has stated that the EFCC is targeting internet fraudsters because they flaunt their wealth, abandoning their poor parents to live lavishly off fraud proceeds.
According to him, the extravagance draws the anti-graft agency’s attention.
In an Instagram video, Portable said: “Why won’t EFCC arrest the youths when they are doing Yahoo, using iPhone 15 and lodging in hotels, but their mothers are selling akara [bean cake] and their fathers are suffering.”
He urged the EFCC to investigate thoroughly, noting that not everyone with a luxurious lifestyle is involved in fraud.
