The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulraaheed Akanki, has urged President Bola Tinubu to resort only to God to fix Nigeria’s challenges.

The traditional ruler said in Iwo, Osun State, this during a reception organised in his honour by the Alu-sunnah, an Islamic organisation, on his return from Saudia Arabia on Sunday.

Oluwo, who stated that he never doubted the intention of Tinubu to fix Nigeria, stressed that the myriad of challenges facing the country required spiritual solution.

He added that the nation’s future would change for the better, if all political leaders at the national, state, and local level seek the face of God.

The monarch said, “There is no country in the world where there is no economic challenges, except in Saudi Arabia. This is so because they place all their affairs in God’s hands and trust in God.

“The president should also do the same. Even the governors, senators, all political leaders, everybody must resign to God.”

Speaking, the Executive Secretary of Muslim Umah of Southwest Nigeria (MUSWEN), Prof. Muslim Yaya, commended Oluwo for his roles as a good ambassador of Islam within the traditional institution and outside the shores of Nigeria, especially during his pilgrimage to Mecca.

He said, “The entire Umah here is uniting behind Oluwo, a traditional ruler who believes in the tenet of Islam and oneness of God.

“I call on all Umah to to unit together and live together in peace even with the people of other religions but we must not be coward to do what Allah has commanded us.”

Also speaking, an Islamic scholar, Dr Dawood Amoo Alaga, enjoined Muslim faithful to join the course of propagating Islam, saying it would be an encouragement for the people.

The event attracted indigenes of Iwo, traditional rulers, and Islamic scholars from the community and outside the shores of Osun State.
