Gov Ododo Joins Stakeholders To Unveil Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway Route Through North Central Zone To Abuja

The Kogi State Governor, Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Friday, joined his counterparts from Nasarawa and Benue States, as well as other stakeholders, to unveil the routes of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway from Calabar to Apo, Abuja.

In the statement made available to newsmen, the event, convened by the Federal Ministry of Works, aimed to engage stakeholders on the 477km Super Highway project.

In his address, Governor Ododo commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for conceiving the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and approving the spur through the North Central Zone to Abuja.

The Kogi Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and urged all Nigerians to do the same.

He also thanked the Hon Minister of Works, Sen David Nweze Umahi, for his efforts to actualize the agenda.

The stakeholders’ engagement, held at the Banquet Hall, Nasarawa State, was attended by various dignitaries, including Governor Sule of Nasarawa State, the Deputy Governor of Benue State, former Governors, members of the Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Works, Traditional Rulers, and other stakeholders.

According to the statement, the Ministry of Works will visit each State to ensure proper alignment of the routes passing through each State within the shortest possible time.

The 477km Super Highway, running from Calabar to Apo, Abuja, has a total of 284 km passing through the North Central Zone, with Kogi Segment spanning 111km, Nasarawa segment 95km, Benue segment 66km, and FCT segment 12km.

Okala Yusuf, Auditor- General of Kogi State, Hon. Emmanuel Obasi, Special Adviser to the Kogi State Government on Federal Project Implementation in the State and Engr. Mike Bernard, Chief Consultant to Kogi State Government, among others.
