The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has announced the suspension of academic activities from Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
In a statement issued by the registrar, Abiodun Oloyede, on Tuesday, it was announced that the suspension is to mourn the demise of Mr. Olumide Oyetade, a lecturer in the Applied Sciences Department of the Faculty of Science, whose burial is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
According to the release, academic activities will resume on Monday, August 5, 2024.
The management urged all students to use this period to complete their registration formalities.
“During this period, students are to vacate the institution’s premises and stay at their various halls of residence to pray for the repose of the soul of the departed and to avert any future occurrence of such a sad incident,” the statement concluded.
