AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE

Several reactions have started pouring in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu approves N90billion for the 2024 Hajj.

Vice-President Kashim Shettima announced that President Bola Tinubu has approved N90 billion to subsidize the cost of the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.

Shettima made this announcement on Wednesday during the 2024 inaugural Hajj airlift at Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State.

“You may recall that this year, we had a major challenge in announcing the final hajj fare for the 2024 Muslim pilgrimage due to fluctuation in foreign exchange rates,” NAN quoted Shettima as saying.

“President Bola Tinubu also worked round the clock to control the downward spiral of our local currency to bring relief to our pilgrims and other Nigerians. “A move that eventually succeeded in lowering the fare. The President approved the release of N90 billion to subsidise the cost of pilgrimage for this year’s hajj.”

The vice-president said Tinubu places great importance on religious pilgrimage, noting that it plays a crucial role in changing the social vices of individuals beyond the hajj exercise.

As expected, the video of VP Shettima announcing the N90billion approved by President Tinubu sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians as it did not sit well with many most especially the Christians. See reactions below;

dr.peterprince: Approve same 90 billion to subsidize Christmas, then approve another 90billion to subsidize Traditionalist and pegans. All of una de m@d.

positivebondship: Jesus Christ of Nazareth!!! 90billion….AH Nigeria my Country.

kutithedirector: 90 billion to go and pray for the country when 90 billion can actually fix the major problem of the country.

style_by_zfv: Ogun kee everybody wey dey do Hajj.

ojayyy__: Let me tell you how senselessly this is, Saudi Arabia’s GDP is 1.12 Trillion Dollars while Nigeria’s GDP is 487.2 billion, which means that the market value of Saudi Arabia is 3 times more than that of Nigeria. The national debt of Saudi Arabia is 26.5 of their GDP meanwhile Nigeria has a debt percentage of 75.27 of GDP. This is a country we are adding 900 billion into their own economy because of religious jamboree!! Any day you Nigerians are tired you know what to do.

bigaent: With the number of churches and mosques we have in Nigeria we still need to travel out to pray?. Majority of the people are living in abject poverty and we are spending money to sponsor folks to go and pray for manna to fall from heaven.

otunba_odunayo’: But everyone paid for there hajj individually. So what the 90millions for.
