AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE

The senator representing Osun East in the Senate, Francis Fadahunsi, has called on the federal and state governments to increase their annual budgetary allocation for education.

Fadahunsi made the call at the presentation of educational materials to some selected schools in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The senator, according to a statement signed by his media aide, Sam Segun-Progress, noted that investment in education is the best investment any government can make with an unquantifiable return.

The lawmaker disclosed that he donated books to selected schools in Ile-Ife to alleviate the burden of educational expenses on parents.

“A lot of parents are finding it hard to buy books for their children and so I chose to squeeze some resources to ensure we start distributing big notes and exercise books,” Fadahunsi said.

The item distributed included 2A, 2B, 2D exercise books and big notes of 40 leaves and 60 leaves, pens and pencils.

Beneficiary schools were Oduduwa College, Sabo; Baptist Primary school; Oranmiyan Grammar School, Road 7; Ife Girls High School, Lagere; St. David Grammar School, Lagere; AUD Primary School, Ogbondo; and St. Philips Grammar School, Omi Okun.

Dignitaries at the event included the Osun State Commissioner for Education, Dipo Eluyemi; SUBEB Chairman, Ibukun Fadipe; Commissioner for Empowerment, Bayo Ogungbamgbe; and the Senior Legislative Aide to the Senator, Ayo Awodirepo who represented the facilitator.
