A mild drama played out in the ancient city of Kano state today May 31 as the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, and the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, held separate Jumaat services.
While Sanusi led his prayers at the Central Mosque, Bayero observed his prayers at the Nasarawa Palace.
Videos of both Emirs greeting their supporters after the Jumaat service were shared online. While the supporters of Emir Bayero were few in number, Sanusi witnessed a mammoth crowd of supporters.
