Chief (Mrs) Oluranti Mudashiru, the wife of Hon. Lukman Mudashiru from Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency in Osun State, has donated a variety of food items to women leaders and various women groups in the constituency.
Over 400 beneficiaries, selected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the 35 political wards in the constituency, received corresponding quantity of food items at the residence of the lawmaker on Sunday.
Presenting the raw food materials, including rice, semovita, and cash grants, Mrs Oluranti described the role of women in politics as significant just as they were significant in building resilient, stable communities.
She noted that the beneficiaries had been instrumental in making the structure of the party calm at the ward level, particularly in ensuring women mobilisation and coordination.
“As women, our role in building a stable society is conceivably significant. In politics, we should mobilise ourselves to be at the table of resource mobilisation and distribution,” She said.
“The underlying goal of this intervention is to bring us together to achieve more for ourselves. We are not in the best of times in terms of cost of living. Therefore, it is my believe that this could fill some gap at our various points of need.
“Going forward, we will convene a forum to sensitise ourselves on the critical need to have a strong voice and coordinate same towards our collective benefits within our great party, the PDP and we will be having this on quarterly basis.
“I have a presented a lofty proposal to Hon. Mudashiru to further benefit all women of the constituency irrespective of our political party and belief”. She concluded.
While commending Chief (Mrs) Oluranti for the timely initiative, the women commended her leadership ability in building on the effort of Hon. Mudashiru at delivering on the promises of the party.
