The distribution of exercise books to pupils by Hon Teniola Lanlehin, the Special Adviser to Governor Adeleke On Education, has sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media platforms, AMILOADED reports.

Sharing about the programme accompanied with pictures on X (formerly twitter) Hon. Teniola wrote; “The good work of Governor of osun state Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke @AAdeleke_01 continues as the Special Adviser on education Hon Teniola Lanlehin visited public schools in Boluwaduro Local Government today where she distributed exercise books for the use of students/pupils and the teachers. She encouraged the teachers to discharge their duties diligently and see the children under their care as the leaders of tomorrow. She also advised the pupils and students to be hardworking .

“According to her , ” education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”.She promised to bring more dividends of democracy to our public schools as a way of showing the commitment of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to quality education in the state. She has used the good gesture as a way of giving back to the community. She was accompanied by the Chairman, Local Government Education Authority, Boluwaduro Local Government, Eng’r Olasupo Adegoke and his team.”

Some netizens have knocked the decision and expressed disappointment, saying distribution of exercise books to pupils in the 21st century, most especially 2024 does not worth celebrating online by government officials.

However, some netizens also laud the giant stride of the SSA, while urging her to Link up with SUBEB and create atmosphere for learning in Osun public primary schools.

See the reactions below;

@Olaleka20675416: Madam @TeniolaEdu_ please your office can achieve way higher than these. Link up with SUBEB and create that atmosphere for learning in our public primary schools. While the teacher recruitment is commendable, ensure that our primary schools have capable teachers who should be

@akorede_Psalms : I swear @AAdeleke_01 is taking Osun back to pre-Aregbe…I am forced to come back to this post again.Please Osun is a pace setter, E de joo naa.We should be distributing pre-programmed Tablets to all these wards.Providing conducive environment for learning (see the whole class rooms and floor – can you guys not see what Aregbe did with schools?”

@Obi4real007: They are trying nah one exercise is what she used for her entire primary school studies.Our politicians and their crumbeaters can be useless.

@Sodeeq28217: Thank you Honourable special adviser. Dis is d type of policy we love in our state. But u should av added pen/pencil to round it up. God bless u ma. Osun le tente.

@realAdetola : Exercise books in 2024??? And you’re smiling like you did something! Smh

@nohrix: You should be ashamed of this picture. It’s obvious the gesture was all about this photo ops. Shame

@adebayo37014249: What’s all these for GOD sake ordinary local government councilor is not suppose to do this and post talkless of you ssa you will just set up us for drags anyways imole @salawueedris1 don’t come and drag me oo

@Topefatu:. Una no dey shame? Distribution of exercise books is what a special adviser to a governor is celebrating as an achievement. Shior

@denverind: This is not progressing, where is the good programme “Opon Imo” of Aregbeshola administration? I expect you guys would have gone pass sharing exercise books in schools when you pioneered use of technology in school. Roll your sleeve and pick up the programme documentation with the sole objective of improving on it, Osun was transforming education back the why going back now. Sharing 3 exercise books to pupils is not an achievement at this present age, we were given free text books, exercise books, bag, sandals, and lunch in the 70’s.

@Lekeyor:Hon Teni we done pass this stage giving books to students is good but now you should do more than this all you local government should have new uniform for the students make book available for them Alway not for show up give them laptop to study,better lab for which department

@Olalekan20675416: Madam @TeniolaEdu_ Please visit the toilet facilities and see what those children are passing through. Could you initiate a meeting with the ministry in charge of WASH and begin the process of providing proper hygiene in our public schools. Madam Special Adviser. Please concentrate more on reducing out-of-school children with far-reaching policies. What is the performance of primary students in terms of literacy and numeracy? How are you ensuring that the basic level produce a literate and numerate kids?.

@Vandaygee: 2 Exercise books is what you want to see governments do? Well, I want to believe that you belong to the PDP but please if you want this in your own state, we the people of Osun don’t want such mediocrity in our state.

@Samueletim85: I follow you immediately. Those are some of the things I like to hear and see from our governments at different levels. Imole is doing all his talks in Osun State. May God continue to bless him and his team.
