AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE

A video is making the rounds on social media where a Nigerian man calls out billionaire Dangote and by extension accused him of making the situation of the country worsened following the hike in the price of his cement.

The Nigerian man identified as Unclenasco expresses his utmost displeasure at the billionaire as he disclosed that Dangote Cement now cost N10,500.

According to the man, Dangote cement as at last week cost N8,000, during the early part of this week it cost N10,000 and as of the moment of filling this content, cement is now over N10,500.

Speaking about the latest disappointment Dangote cement caused him, the Nigerian man said a lady bought 1 acre of land last week and was given the contract to fence the land.

He added that they ask him for the quotation and he responded by telling the lady that cement is N8,000 and got paid for the bags of cement only for the price to be N10,500 this week.

The Nigerian man tackles Dangote for being a hardened capitalist following the continuous increase in the price of his cement despite the hardship in the economy.

He noted that Dangote is the richest man in Africa from Nigeria but didn’t contribute in making life easier for his own people.

He stressed that Dangote sells cement to people in other African countries at the rate of N3,500 or N4,000 but sells to his own people for over N10K.

Dragging Dangote further, the man said that Dangote trucks are mostly responsible for the spoilage of roads in Nigeria yet his cement price keeps increasing all the time.

However, according to Dailypost report, a 50 kilograms bag of cement in the Federal Capital Territory has surged to between N10,000 and N15,000.

A market survey conducted on Friday by the publication in Gwarimpa, Area 10, Kubwa, Lugbe and Dawaki showed that a 50kg bag of Dangote cement is N10,000 and BUA cement stood at N15,000.

A retailer in Gwarimpa, Yinka Adebayo, said that the price of Dangote cement is N10,000 while that of BUA is N15,000.

He said he sold a bag of cement for N6,000 in January 2023.

“We sell Dangote cement at N10,000 per bag, and BUA is N15,000. Unfortunately, it will surprise you that I sold the same bag of cement, N5,500 to N6000, last month,” he said.

Similarly, Rukiyat Abdullahi, a retailer in Kubwa, said Dangote cement is sold for N10,200 while BUA goes for N16,000.

“Dangote is now N10,200 while BUA goes for N16,000 per bag”, she told Dailypost on Friday.

At Lugbe, the retailers confirmed to the publication that Dangote and BUA cement prices are N10,000 and N15,000, respectively.

Meanwhile, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Musa Dangiwa decried the astronomical rise in the price of cement and other building materials across the country.

He said the price hike was unacceptable and insisted the fluctuation in the exchange rate of the dollar could not be blamed.

Recall that for more than five months, the Cement Producers Association of Nigeria cautioned that the Federal Government’s plan to introduce concrete roads could increase cement prices to N9,000 per bag.

The development comes amid a continued soar in Nigeria’s inflation. The National Bureau of Statistics, in its Consumer Price Index report for January, said inflation soared to 29.90 per cent.
