The chairperson of Osun Facebook Hangout 2023, Mrs. Mutiat Adewale-Oyediran has disclosed that the primary purpose of hosting the hangout is to leverage the power of social media to promote the state of Osun as a tourist destination, foster community engagement, and encourage economic growth.
This was made known on 13th December, 2023 by the chairperson at a press conference held at Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo.
According to Mrs. Adewale-Oyediran, social media platforms have connected people from all over the world and have grown to be an essential part of our lives over time.
She went on to say that one of the most widely used sites, Facebook, has completely changed how we exchange information and communicate.
Mrs. Adewale-Oyediran stated that the Osun Facebook Hangout 4.0 is scheduled to take place at GMT Hotels and Garden, Osogbo, on December 17, 2023.
She said that one of the main goals of the Osun Facebook Hangout 2023 is to promote tourism in the state, even as she outlined the Hangout’s main purposes.
‘Osun is endowed with mostly unappreciated historical landmarks, natural wonders, and cultural legacy. The event hopes to draw visitors from outside and from local communities to discover Osun’s hidden treasures by using Facebook’s influence and reach. She went on, “The event will offer a virtual tour of the state, enticing potential visitors to experience its beauty firsthand through engaging content, live videos, and interactive discussions.”
She went on to say that encouraging community involvement is one of the Osun Facebook Hangout 2023’s main goals.
Social media, irrespective of physical distance, has the ability to unite individuals. The state government hopes to foster a sense of pride and togetherness among Osun citizens by organizing this event. She went on, “It will give people a forum to share their experiences, talents, and stories, which will strengthen the bond within the community.”
She also disclosed that the Osun Facebook Hangout 2023 also aims to stimulate economic growth in the state.
‘By showcasing the diverse range of products, services, and industries present in Osun, the event will attract potential investors and entrepreneurs. It will provide a platform for local businesses to promote their products and services, thereby expanding their customer base’, she said.
She also revealed that one of the goals of the Osun Facebook Hangout 2023 is to promote the state’s economy.
‘The event will draw potential investors and entrepreneurs by presenting the wide range of goods, services, and industries existing in Osun. According to her, it will give nearby companies a stage on which to advertise their goods and services and grow their clientele.
