Osun Assembly Majority Leader, Adewunmi Kofoworola, Empowers 1,000 Students

The Majority Leader of Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewunmi Kofoworola Nurudeen, has presented education materials alongside stipend to 1,000 students in Ede area of the state, AMILOADED reports.


Kofoworola made the presentation at his country home in Ede, Osun State, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.


Speaking at the event, the lawmaker thanked the residents of the area for their attendance, saying, “Your attendance signifies your unwavering commitment to the cause of education and your belief in the boundless potential of these young minds.


“We come together to celebrate the transformative power of education. Education is more than just a means to acquire knowledge, it is the beacon of hope, a catalyst for change and a pathway to brighter future.


“We understand that education is not a privilege but a fundamental right of every child. It is the foundation upon which we build our hope and aspirations. It is the force that breaks down barriers, unlocks doors of opportunity, and enables us to reach our fullest potential. This program is not just a standalone initiative; it is a promise fulfilled. It is a testament to our commitment to the betterment of our constituency and our alignment with the Five-Point Agenda of His Excellency Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, which places education at the forefront of development of our dear state.”


Kofoworola also advised the parents and guardians on how to make the children have a smooth ride education.


He said, “To the parents and guardians, you are the first teachers and the primary source of support. For our students, your unwavering belief in their potential and your dedication to their growth are the cornerstones upon which their success is built.


“To the students, you are the stars of today’s event, and vou are the stars of our future. Your hard work, determination, and resilience have brought you to this moment of recognition. You have already shown the world what you are capable of, and I encourage you to dream even bigger, aim even higher, and believe in your potential to achieve greatness.”


Also speaking, the Special Adviser at the Ministry of Regional Integration and Special Duties, Dr Tokunbo Salam, described education as the fundamental human right of the citizens, adding, “I am always happy for this generation; it is good for leaders to bring unity amongst the children to make the children see themselves as leaders of tomorrow. After today’s event I expect all the children to think about what they want to become in future.


“We have to break the poverty chain as leaders; there must be a law to protect the children of this generation because whatever you give them will be held for life, the children need to be orientated.


“There is no escape in education. Whatever you are given today, please use it well.”


The Speaker of the Assembly, Hon Olumide Adewale Egbedun, said, “I appreciate my colleague Hon Adewunmi kofoworola because this is a good development. I must also adopt this method in my local government.


“Please all our children shouldn’t doubt this; I am talking to you because I am also a child. Education is the only key to success; I implore you all to face your studies because I know Honorable Adewunmi will do more to contribute to your studies.”


One of the beneficiaries, Adebayo Aishat from Owode Adejumo Grammar School, thanked the lawmaker, calling on the Osun State Government to reintroduce History into schools’ curriculum.


Adebayo, a JSS student, said, “I am happy with the things we were given, i will be of best behavior to make the honorable proud.


“I implore the State government to reintroduce History as one of our subjects and also make musical instruments available for school use.”
