The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State, has debunked and dissociated itself from a group spreading information a caretaker committee of the council in the state, AMILOADED reports.
NYCN, in a statement signed by its Secretary, Com. Akere Monsur, on Friday, said the people spreading the false information are not members of the council, adding that it has no caretaker committee in Osun State.
The statement read, “The attention of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter has been drawn to the nefarious move of a named committee for misguiding the public about the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Osun State, spreading false information.
“Kindly note that those individuals are not a member of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter.
“The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Osun State Chapter had her elective Congress on 6th of April, 2023 with due process followed.
“That the supervisory body to the National Youth Council of Nigeria Osun state (Ministry of Youth and sports) was duly involved and informed on the processes and procedures that led to emergence of new NYCN Osun State Executives while the Osun State Youth Advisory Committee were observers.
“In view of the above, you are requested to have no dealings whatsoever with the committee as their action might lead to the disturbance of Existing Peace being enjoyed in the state.”
