A Nigerian comedian and entertainer Adeyemo Adejare Oluwafemi, popularly known as Baba Alariya, has been featured on the fifth episode of the ‘Things Upon Things Podcast’, a talk show that places its focus on conversing about sensitive and deep issues that the society frowns on, AMILOADED reports.

The show, which recently featured the comedian, was hosted by Ezekiel Adarighofua known as Ezekiels de cop, Hatice and Mary Morris aka the MazzyQueen.

On the fifth episode of the podcast, the conversation focused of tribalism as it affects Nigeria and the world at large.

The episode also explored how Nigerians have been able to stay happy during trying times.

While discussing on tribalism with the hosts of the show, Baba Alariya stated that 90 per cent of Nigerians are content creators which makes getting them to smile an easy job, saying Nigeria has since been rated one of the happiest countries even in the world.

He said, “Nigerians can be very good to foreigners but when it comes to their fellow Nigerians, they tend not to be loyal and this is hypocritical.”

He also mentioned his experience while in Kenya where he had to pay extra for a cab fare just because he couldn’t speak the Kenyan language.

“The cab man took advantage of him, collected a sum of seventy five thousand naira instead of sixteen thousand naira just because he noticed he was vulnerable at that point by his inability to speak the same language as him.

“This story portrayed tribalism as a world problem, not just a Nigerian problem only that Nigerians according to the discussants tend to be extra about theirs. Nigerians were thus admonished and other viewers alike to put aside this tribal war and work towards achieving a better Nigeria and a better world at large,” the comedian added.
