PHOTOS: Osun CSDA Commissions 18 Micro Projects

The Osun State Government, in conjunction with the community and social Development Agency (CDSA), has commissioned 18 micro projects in the rural communities in a bid to make life more meaningful for citizens, AMILOADED reports.

The project which was done on Tuesday to cushion the effect of COVID-19 in the life of the citizens was funded through the Osun COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic stimulus (OSUN-CARES).

Some of the projects commissioned by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola represented by the Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Segun Olanibi, include rehabilitation and equipping of science laboratory, boreholes, and newly built blocks of eight rooms of VIP toilet at Ifelodun -Awosuru community in Osogbo Local Government Area of Osun State.

Olanibi accompanied by the Adviser to the Governor Oyetola on Rural Development and Community Affairs,Olabamiji Mumini,the General Manager of Osun CSDA,Mrs Aderonke Abokede and other staff of the agency commissioned rehabilitated and well equipped laboratory rooms in N.U.D College, N.U.D Primary school,Isale Oyo,Iragbiji and N.U.D Grammar School ,Okebale , Osogbo Local Government.

He also commissioned boreholes and hand pump boreholes for the rural dwellers in Moboluwaduro Community, Osogbo and Ibokun ,Obokun local government and Dada Oga Community , Okebale, Osogbo.

To restore healthy living among the citizens, Olanibi also commissioned Health center in Okeyelu , Olorunda local government Area.

Oyetola, in his message at the event,commended the good works of the Osun CSDA for ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach the grass roots and also appreciated the World Bank for its prompt intervention towards the projects.

He said, “I therefore appreciate Osun CSDA which is an agency of the state government for the good work the agency is doing in ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots.

“I must also thank the World Bank for prompt intervention to cushion the effects of COVID-19 Pandemic and make life more meaningful for the citizens of this state.”

The Special Adviser to the Governor, Mumini Adekunle Olabamiji, in the same vein, thanked the Osun CSDA for its assiduous work.

Adekunle during his speech, congratulated the beneficiaries of the projects and also urged them to utilize and maintain it well.

During an interview with the General Manager, Aderonke of Osun CSDA, Aderonke Abokede,she disclosed how essential the projects are, especially the science laboratory rooms for the science students as science is a practical course.

Aderonke added that the science laboratory project would help in enhancing functional education in the state.

She said the project is about utilisation as it should be functional and well managed by the beneficiaries.
