Controversy Trails Death Of Lawyer Whose Wife Died Allegedly Chasing Him

Some close associates to a lawyer, Mr Sunny Bassey, who lost his wife in a car crash in Calabar, Cross River State, over an alleged ‘side chic’, have said he is still alive, AMILOADED reports.

It was gathered from sources on Monday afternoon that contrary to the news making rounds that the man was dead, the Calabar-based lawyer is still alive.

A prominent Calabar-based lawyer, who pleased anonymity, and his friend confirmed that he is still alive, saying, “The information is false, Sunny is very much alive.”

Another close associate to Bassey, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed that he saw the man a few hours ago, adding that they also spoke on phone thereafter.

Reports had surfaced on Monday morning after a family source announced the death of the lawyer.

AMILOADED had earlier reported that a woman died in a car crash during an attempt to catch her husband with his alleged side chick (mistress) in Calabar, Cross River State few weeks ago.

Cross River Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Cross River, Maikano Hassan confirmed the incident.

According to Hassan, the incident happened as a result of over-speeding while the woman chased to catch up with her husband who was in another car with his alleged mistress.He said: “Though the woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but she was said to have died few minutes later due to the injury sustained from the incident.”

Another source, who wanted anonymity, noted the deceased spotted her husband leaving SPAR shopping Mall in the company of another female when she attempted to outrun them with in aToyota Highlander she was driving
