2023 Presidency: I Don’t Know Why People Without Track Record Are Running, Says Tinubu

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Presidential Aspirant of the party, has tackled some of those involved in the race with him.

Addressing delegates of the party at Government House, Minna, Niger State Capital, on Friday, Tinubu said he did not know why some people without track record bought the presidential nomination forms of the APC.

“I am running for the presidency of this country. I don’t know what other people are Running For. Where is their track record? How many councilors have they produced? How many Local Government Chairmen have they produced?”

“How many House of Representatives members have they produced? How many Senators have they produced? We have produced them. They are now pointing the wrong fingers at me. May God forgive them because they are blind.” He said.

Tinubu said some of the aspirants who were tackling him on health grounds do not have medical certificates to prove their health status.

“We are looking for a doer who will look at the economic resources of this country and turn it around for prosperity for us. We are looking for somebody who knows the way for educating our children.

“If it’s about what we will eat, we cannot overeat anymore at this age. But we must leave our children and grandchildren enough prosperity and opportunity; good education, not to roam the street of Niger or Kaduna and any street at all in Nigeria.

“We have what it takes; we have smartness; I have it better than others. It’s the brain and skills that I used to rebuild Lagos.”

Tinubu pledged to end banditry that has ravaged many local government areas in Niger.

Earlier, the former Governor of Borno State, Kasim Shettima, said without Tinubu and the South West, President Muhammadu Buhari would not have won the 2015 election.

He said it was time for the North to support the Tinubu candidature for numerous contributions to the progress of the APC.

In his remarks, the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello threw questioned delegates whether they were in support of Tinubu’s candidature and the response was overwhelming.
